Will my jewellery tarnish, and is that a quality issue?Updated 2 days ago
Some tarnishing is normal for sterling silver jewellery over time - it's a natural chemical reaction, not a sign of poor quality, and it's fully reversible with cleaning. Pieces worn daily often tarnish less, as the natural oils in skin help keep silver polished.
Our plain sterling silver pieces naturally age this way, so they come with a polishing cloth to keep them looking their best. Rhodium-plated and gold-plated styles are finished with a protective layer over the silver, so they shouldn't be polished with a cloth - rubbing can wear away the plating and dull or scratch the finish underneath. Instead, keep these pieces dry and free from perfume, lotion and prolonged water exposure to help the plating last as long as possible. See our full care guide here.
